Not even half way through March and Spring beauty collections are already in full force. The Quo Spring 2017 Collection is now available exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart. The collection features the usual suspects - a brush set, two face palettes, 2 eye palettes, 1 brow palette and 3 matte lip crayons.
The packaging is groovy. The plastic, quartz/turquoise stone casing is interesting, eye catching and fun. The colours have got me itching for the warmer weather... like an imaginary trip to Las Vegas, Nevada and the Grand Canyon.
The Quo Face Palettes in Heat It Up and Down to Earth ($20 CAD) each contain 2 highlighters, 2 blushes and 2 bronzers. Like the names suggest, Heat It Up contains warmer tones, while the colours in Down to Earth are more neutral. The powders are not extraordinary, buildable pigmentation, a touch powdery but easy to blend onto the skin. Out of the two, I prefer Down to Earth because the colouring of the bronzer in Heat It Up is way to warm for any human being.
The Quo Cosmetics Eyeshadow Palettes in No Pressure and Rock it! ($18 CAD) are a step up from Quo's typical seasonal collection eyeshadow palettes. They're usually dry and chalky. This time around, the eyeshadows are smooth, with less fallout. They're still powdery and not the most pigmented, so there's still something missing here for me. No Pressure contains shimmery shades and Rock It! contains 4 matte neutrals. I wish Quo had put 2 shimmers and 2 mattes in each palette, that way each palette would stand alone without the need for dipping into another palette to complete an eyeshadow look.

It's one of the most mundane items in the collections but the Quo Brow Palettes ($12 CAD) are always a favourite of mine. The split powder, highlight, eyebrow cream and double-sided applicator all contained in a palm-sized case just get me. I wish the Quo Eyeshadows were as smooth and potent in colour as the brow palettes!
Last, we have the Quo Matte Lip Crayons in Pretty in Pink and Simply Red ($12 CAD). Pretty in Pink is a blue-toned pink. It isn't particularly flattering on my skin colouring and makes my teeth look yellow. Simply Red, on the other hand, is a neutral red and I can see it suiting the whole spectrum of skin tones. The rounded crayon format makes precise application difficult, especially with such bold and bright colours. The matte formulation is comfortable and long-lasting (around 5 hours, without lip liner).
All in all, I'm in love with the packaging but the products generally didn't meet my expectations. They're not terrible but not amazing for the price. If anything, go for the brow palette!
