One of my yearly goals was to put out nail art at least once per week. Nail art keeps me creative, especially when I get bloggers block.
May the 4th Nail Art
A few months ago, I watched Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It rekindled my nerdy side (who am I kidding.. I'm already a nerd) and re-watching for the rest of the movies
for the 5th time is on my to-do list.
Star War's Day. May the 4th be with you. May the Force be with you. Get it?
Products Used: Ceramic Glaze Pure, Ceramic Glaze Little Black Dress, Ceramic Glaze Santorini Blue, Ceramic Glaze Russian Rouge, OPI Ce-less-tial is More, OPI I Drive a Super Nova, Seche Vite Top Coat
Spring Floral Nail Art
I've probably done a million floral designs. Here's another one that I did for a warm Mother's Day weekend on the patio. Tis the season, ya know?
Products Used: OPI One Chic Chick, OPI Don't Provoke the Plum, Ceramic Glaze Pure, Ceramic Glaze Little Black Dress, Ceramic Glaze I'm on Island Time, Ceramic Glaze Sweet Temptation, Ceramic Glaze Watermelon Cooler
Donut Nail Art
In anticipation for National Donut Day (June 3rd), I put donuts on my nails! I donut care what you think about ridiculous food puns!
Products Used: Essie White Page, Sephora Formula X Spiked, Sephora Formula X Intensity, Ceramic Glaze Pineapple Breeze, Rimmel London Sweet Treat, Essence Let's Get Lost
Before this post, I put my nail art in individual posts, which didn't have much content. Now you can see multiple nail art looks at once! Let me know if you prefer this format.

The OPI Alice Through the Looking Glass Collection ($12.50 CAD each), coincides with the release of the Disney movie, Alice Through the Looking Glass -- featuring Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska! Alice in Wonderland is a cartoon, Disney filled trip down memory lane for me.
OPI Alice Through the Looking Glass Collection
OPI What Time Isn't It? Swatch
OPI What Time Isn't It is a "special edition" shade. They're all "special edition" but this one comes in its own exclusive Alice Through the Looking Glass Collection. It's a cream grey polish filled with silver confetti. It's opaque in 2 coats and is probably the most unique of the collection.

Plain oatmeal is not my thing. But bake it in the oven with a little sugar, spice and everything nice and it's instantly transformed into something I actually want to eat in the mornings.
Baked oatmeal is so versatile. I've done chocolate chip baked oatmeal, apples + cinnamon baked oatmeal and pear + cinnamon baked oatmeal, and coconut baked oatmeal - all delicious! Peanut butter and banana are the perfect breakfast combo. And I even add a little Nutella if my sweet tooth is bugging me.
I'll usually make this recipe on a Sunday morning in order to prep for the rest of the week.

I've always been an air-dry kind of gal but lately the humidity (and maybe age/stress?) has been getting to my hair. So, I've been needing the help of a good ole blow dry to combat what would have been a frizzy, tangled mess. Here's what's been working for me to achieve the perfect blow dry:
Sephora Mini Blast Travel Ionic Blowdryer, Shu Uemura Art of Hair Wonder Worker Air Dry/Blow Dry Perfector, Tangle Teezer Blow Styling Hair Brush

As mentioned in a previous post, Quo Cosmetics just launched a bunch of new beauty products. It's only fitting that I've tried several of their lip products (those are my favourite to test out!). While there are regular lipstick additions to the Quo line, the brand is also introducing a liquid lipstick and a glossy stain.

If you liked the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation, then boy, will you appreciate this new launch. On June 15th, Too Faced is releasing the Too Faced Born This Way Concealer ($39). And spoiler alert(!!), it's just as good as the foundation.
The Too Faced Born This Way Concealer is one of the many unreleased products that I received at Generation Beauty. There, I got colour matched to the shade Light Medium. The Born This Way Concealer is available in 10 shades - very fair, fair, light, light medium, medium tan, tan, deep tan, dark and deep. Light Medium is a good all-rounder (acne scarring and under eye circles) - slightly yellow but not too much so. For reference, Natalie of Ivory Avenue wears very fair.

Every month, P&G Beauty sends along an enormous package of beauty goodies for me to play with. Not everything makes it onto the blog but sometimes there are a few noteworthy products. This month, I've been enjoying the CoverGirl Clean Matte BB Cream for Oily Skin in 530 Light/Medium, CoverGirl Perfect Blend Eyeshadow in 135 Cobalt Blue, and the Olay 4-in-1 Daily Facial Cloths.

The OPI Infinite Shine Collection is one of those no lamp, no light, easy to remove gel nail polishes that is meant to last for 10 days straight... with presumably infinite shine. Including the 8 colours from the spring collection, there are 70 colours in total.
The OPI Infinite Shine gel-lacquers, primer and gloss retail for $14.95 CAD each.

The Marc Jacobs Cover(t) Stick Color Corrector in 320 Getting Warmer ($52) is probably the chicest way to hop on the colour correcting bandwagon. The white and black minimalist twist-up plastic packaging is right up my alley.
The Marc Jacobs Cover(t) Stick Color Corrector is available in three shades:
310 Bright Now - pink/lilac to eliminate dullness and cover dark circles for light skin
300 Co(vert) Affairs - citron/lime to eliminate redness
320 Getting Warmer - peach/caramel to eliminate dark circles and hyperpigmentation for medium/deep skin

The Mary Kay Lash Intensity Mascara ($22) claims to provide 200% more volume to the thickness of lashes + 84% longer-looking lashes. That's a whole lot of lash, if I do say so myself.
The wand of the Mary Kay Lash Intensity Mascara is freaking HUGE. To go with the huge claims, I guess. The wand is actually quite effective at grabbing onto all of the lashes and coating them with the mascara.

THREE THINGS: Sephora Collection Rouge Gel Lip Liner, Rouge Shine Lipsticks and Rouge Cream Lipstick
It's sad that Sephora Collection products are often overlooked. They have a crazy amazing selection of products at decent prices and in innovative formulations. Today, I've got three Sephora Collection lip products to share with you - the Sephora Collection Rouge Gel Lip Liner ($15), Sephora Collection Rouge Shine Lipsticks ($15) and Sephora Collection Rouge Cream Lipstick ($16).

Enter the Sigma Beauty E25 Blending Brush ($19.50 from Nail Polish Canada), a recent acquisition that is compared to the MAC 217 online and has an uncanny similarity to my Hakuhodo J5523 Eye Shadow Brush.

Thanks to Ipsy OS, I headed to Generation Beauty Toronto this past weekend! What a whirlwind of 2 days.
Walking the Ipsy pink carpet favourite @livingthegrey
What is Generation Beauty? Generation Beauty is a two day "conference" of sorts where makeup fanatics convene to explore brands and meet influencers (like Desi Perkins, LusterLux and Made Yew Look).
Generation Beauty 2016 brands included: Absolute New York, Benefit, Crown Brush, Luxie, OGX, Rock Your Hair, Royal and Langnickel, Tarte, Cake, Caudalie, Essence, Nudestix, Physicians Formula, Pixi by Petra, Pur, Skinfix, and Evelyn Iona.
Generation Beauty Attendee + Creator Gift Bag goodies
The Marc Jacobs Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Polish ($22 CAD) is meant to be a "fresh take on nail polish", as it is formulated with bonding agents to deliver a chip-resistant wet look.
The bottles are oh so pretty but also oh so awkward to store in my collection full of square and circle shaped bottles. But it's all good, because pretty trumps everything. The shape of the bottle is actually meant to resemble a smile.

Traveling in style has never been easier. Sephora Collection has a boatload of travel makeup options for every budget.
After being away for 2 weeks, I regret not bringing any brushes with me. Good brushes make for a good makeup application and I found it hard to achieve my desired look without a few. Anyways, below, I've rounded up a few travel beauty options available at Sephora!

If you haven't watched my vlog of my time at the Lush Factory (see bit.ly/lushfactory) yet, then you should know that I picked up a ton of goodies from Lush including some of the Mother's Day releases, as well as new-to-Canada Oxford Street collection soaps and a couple products from the permanent line.

When Make Up For Ever sends you all 20 of the new Make Up For Ever Aqua XL Eye Pencils ($25 each), you draw rainbows on your face.
The MUFE Aqua XL Eye Pencils are made in collaboration with Charli XCX, a play on her creative spirit and bold, energetic look. The pencils are meant to be long-wearing, waterproof, non-creasing, non-smudging and ultra-creamy with the intense colour that you'd usually expect from Make Up For Ever products.
In a nutshell, the Aqua XL Eye Pencils are meant to be the ultimate eyeliner.

Rimmel has released quite a few goodies the past couple seasons. So, I thought the best way to test them out would to be to throw them all on my face.

THREE THINGS: Marc Jacobs Beauty Lamé Noir Ultra-Glittering Mascara and Fineliner in Blacquer and (Big)Eyes!
Marc Jacobs Beauty is a brand that truly intrigues me. It's a little expensive but not so much so that I can't afford it or ignore the launches. Most of the products have a positive reputation online and each new launch always has some sort of inspiration or innovative twist.
Today's three things are new to me products from Marc Jacobs Beauty - the Marc Jacobs Beauty Lamé Noir Ultra-Glittering Mascara and Fineliner in Blacquer and (Big)Eyes!

During the spring, pastels are my thing. So, upon receiving the OPI Soft Shades Collection, I was ecstatic. The OPI Soft Shades Collection contains six beautiful neutrals, perfect for this time of the year. Pastels look particularly amazing with a tan (which I have thanks to my trip to Greece!).

New season, new skincare. The warmer weather calls for a new set of products catered to my finicky skin (featuring huge pores, oiliness, and hyper-pigmentation). Thanks to Paula's Choice, I was set up with a brand spankin' new skincare routine.

The perfect harmony of simplicity, discipline and control. This is the inspiration for the Orofluido Asia Zen Control Line. The Orofluido Asia Zen Control line is targeted towards frizzy hair to promote control, while making hair soft, more manageable and shiny.
The Orofluido Asia Zen Control line contains a myriad of Asian-inspired ingredients:
Tsubaki (Camellia Oil) - promotes frizz control, increases shine and managability
Bamboo Extract - improves moisture retention, strength and elasticity
Rice Oil - nourishes split ends, strengthens hair fibre and adds shine
All of the products in the Orofluido Asia Zen Control contain a sweet, exotic floral scent. Upon first sniff, it seemed like it would be a bit to much for my nose and sensitive eyes to handle but it ended up being just enough to uplift the senses without irritating them.

Wet N Wild just launched a new line of 17 brushes priced at $0.99 to $2.99. No, no. I didn't type that wrong. These brushes are very inexpensive yet they seem to perform on par with much pricier brushes.
All of the brushes are cruelty-free and made with synthetic hairs. The synthetic hairs are made in a way that copies the imperfections of natural hair to mimic the performance of an animal hair brush.
The brushes are all pink and white, pretty and simple. They're also super soft. The softness is comparable to the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea brushes... which is actually a little surprising.

Sephora Collection Wonderful Cushion Foundation in 30 Sand and I Love Cushion Bronzer in Light Medium
The concept of cushions is no longer limited to foundations. As part of their Spring 2016 launches, Sephora launched a series of cushion themed products - the Wonderful Cushion Foundation, Wonderful Cushion Blush, Wonderful Cushion Luminizer, Wonderful Cushion Lips and I <3 Cushion Bronzer. Today, I have the Sephora Collection Wonderful Cushion Foundation and I <3 Cushion Bronzer in Light Medium to share with you.
I Love Cushions!

Behold. My third experience with Too Faced Cosmetics eyeshadows and my first with a palette from the "Chocolate Bar" line. Yes, I can finally confirm that the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Palette ($59 CAD) smells exactly like a chocolate bar.
I've heard complaints from other beauty blogger friends that the heart-shaped eyeshadow pans and baby pink packaging is way too "pink and girly and tacky". You know what? It is...and I think it's kind of cute. Despite looking a little childish, the tin can handle its fair share of drops. I wouldn't call the packaging sleek but it doesn't take up a lot of space either. There's also a magnetic closure which is so satisfying to snap open and close.

Mother's Day is in less than a week and these goodies from Quo Cosmetics (sold exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart) are sure to please. Seriously, they're housed in floral packaging, so what's not to love? The Quo Cosmetics Mother's Day Collection includes four items - the Quo Perfectly Prepped Palette ($20), Quo Lip Gloss Set ($20), Quo Beauty Box ($25) and Quo Deluxe Portfolio ($50).
AND I'm giving away ALL 4 of the products in the collection, so scroll to the bottom of the post to enter!
All of the palettes are housed in a sturdy floral cardboard packaging that is fitting for both spring and Mother's Day. Let's check them out from smallest to largest!
Ashley Graham - model, designer and plus-size spokesperson. Ashley Graham is the Color Curator of the month of May for the Sephora Formula X #ColorCurators Collection 2016. If you're not familiar with Ashley Graham, she is well-known for being the first plus-size model on the cover of Sports Illustrated Magazine.
As per usual, the Color Curators collection contains three shades in Formula X's wonderful formula. May's collection by Ashley Graham is cohesive colours - a coral, a cherry red, and a deep red. Let's get on to the swatches!
36DDD is a warm, orange coral. It is slightly deeper in person vs. in photo. For some reason, this one was slightly thicker than the others but other wise it performed the same. the name also makes me wish that there was a nail polish for every bra size. Where is the 34AAAAA nail polish?
Sexy As Hell
Sexy As Hell is a classic cherry red.
#BeautyBeyondSize is also a classic red but cooler and deeper than Sexy As Hell.
I'm loving the female empowerment/body love theme of the names. The colours also are very fitting for the theme, as reds make a bold statement on the nails. However, these particular shades are not very unique - I already have them somewhere in my collection. As such, if you've already got a few reds in your nail polish stash you can pass on these. If not, go for it!
What do you think of this months Color Curators Collection?

Yeah. That's right. I filmed my very first vlog. Last week, I went for a little visit to the Lush Factory in Toronto and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try my hand at making a video. Subscribe to my youtube channel at >> bit.ly/StephLauYoutube <<
The tour was quite an intimate affair. Just three of us, ooh-ing and aahhh-ing at the sights and sounds. We had the opportunity to work with the compounders to make some of Lush's current and unreleased products. Highlights of the Lush Factory included the GLITTER ROOM and the BUBBLE DEPARTMENT. Seriously though, who wouldn't want to work in a place with a glitter room? Anyways, click the video to see how it all went down.
Yeah, anyone who knows a thing or two about Lush knows that it's a great company. BUT It's one thing to read all of Lush's corporate policies in regards to product quality, freshness, and handmade products on their website. It's another thing to see it all happen in person.
